Where To Watch

AppleTV+

Why no theatrical release?!?!?!?! This is exactly the type of film we need to showcase on the big screen... original genre ideas. This is not to say that this is the most groundbreaking idea or some of the best writing to be put to paper, but the idea is a farfetched reach that works.

Scott Derrickson and Zach Dean helm an espionage thriller in the first quarter of the film and flip it into a sci-fi-horror-love story the rest of the way and do a serviceable job of it... no matter how ridiculous it is.

Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor come hard with another ambient score that sets the mood.

Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller understood the assignment and went all in regardless of the ridiculousness. Their chemistry is the catalyst.  And Sigourney Weaver continues her string of strange rolls that started with Cabin in the Woods... but I can't say I hate it.

And are we seeing the triumphant return of the film SOUNDTRACK?!?!?! Banger after banger in this one.

Pacing is the only issue but it's very minor. But, it's so nice to see directors taking swings with genre films and I hope it continues!!

Unplug, make some popcorn, and watch an original idea in the comfort of your own home.

Hey friend! I love seeing your posts. Was wondering what streaming service you saw this on, because I always want to watch your recommendations (and it sounds like this is a recommendation, just with a few caveats). Hope you are well and so happy to follow you on this platform! Hurry back to Bellingham for another visit sometime. -H

Heidi, I will start listing the platforms I watch these films on if I didn't catch them in theatres. This one was, and only is, on AppleTV+. Thank you for commenting and following along. I am trying to rid my life of all things MAGA (Meta, Google, etc).
